This gin was inspired by Julian’s love of cooking and watching cooking shows, gleaning inspiration from Top Chef, Chef’s Table, Beat Bobby Flay, and the vibrant flavor pairings of Chef Marcus Samuelsson. The bolder or our two gins, Gin Recipe 02 combines the earthy fruitiness of black currants with fresh thyme to create a complex and savory gin with a peppery finish.

What you will find in this small batch craft gin are vivid notes of citrus on the nose, a subtle sweetness of dried black currants, and savory notes of thyme and other herbs on the palate, with a lingering finish of peppercorn.

This gin can be enjoyed neat, over ice, or mixed into your favorite gin cocktail, such as G&T, Negroni, French 75, etc.

“Sociable” by Michael Sioxson

5 muddled blackberries
1.5 oz – 02
.5 oz – simple syrup
.5 oz – crème de violet
2 dashes of black walnut bitters
Light shake with ice. Dump out entire shaker into glass
Splash of tonic
Garnish with Sage and Thyme

As you sip from the glass the smell of sage and thyme helps to bring out the fruit notes on the palate.  The simple syrup and crème de violet soften the gin and the bitters round it out. The blackberries can be exchanged with just about any other berry or fruit.
