Pomegranate Lady
We like to think that February is when the calendar year really gets going–the holidays are well and truly over, Black History Month and Valentine’s Day provide an excuse to pause, reflect, and celebrate, and the cold of winter starts to give way to the warmth of spring.
We love our February vibes, and there’s no better way to get back in the groove than by stopping by one of our upcoming gin tastings, snagging a bottle of Common Ground Spirits Gin, and shaking up our spring spin on a cocktail classic; the Pomegranate Lady!
Cheers to a great year ahead!

Pomegranate Lady
A classic Pink Lady cocktail is a simple combination of gin, lemon juice, applejack (a type of apple brandy), egg whites, and grenadine. We haven’t deviated too far from the standard here in our Pomegranate Lady cocktail, with one key exception: homemade pomegranate “grenadine.” This magical concoction turns the cocktail a sultry, dusky maroon color and, more importantly, creates a flavor profile ten times better and more complex than most store-bought grenadines. Plus, the batch size we’ve provided will supply you with enough leftover, long-lasting grenadine syrup for cocktails and mocktails alike (hello, pomegranate Shirley Temples!).
Ingredients for Grenadine
(makes enough for about 20 drinks)
2 oz pomegranate molasses
6 oz demerara or turbinado sugar
6 oz water
Ingredients for Pomegranate Pink Lady
Serves 1
¾ oz fresh lemon juice
1 small egg white
1 ½ oz Common Ground Spirits Gin Recipe 03
½ oz applejack (or your favorite apple brandy)
½ oz pomegranate grenadine
