Cherry Berry Gin Spritz Recipe

Serves 1

Julian concocted this Cherry Berry Gin Spritz recently and it was so good, he had to share it! Firstly, it’s easy—a little muddling and the usual quick shake and strain, and you’ve got yourself a gorgeous, punch-like drink. Secondly, it’s versatile—play with whichever summer fruits look best and ripest at the market. It’s hard to go wrong here. Thirdly—wait, nope, that’s it! Muddle, shake, strain, enjoy, REPEAT!

Cheers to the end of summer!

Ingredients

4 whole ripe cherries, stems removed

1 whole ripe strawberry (no need to remove the hull)

½ small lemon (or 1 quarter large lemon)

2 oz Common Ground Spirits Gin Recipe 01 (basil and elderflower)

1 1/2 oz Pekut & Carwick Vin d’Orange or similar orange liqueur

¼ oz simple syrup

Soda water

  1. Add the cherries, strawberry, and lemon to a large cocktail shaker and muddle until fruit is well crushed.
  2. Add ice to the shaker, then add the gin, Vin d’Orange, and simple syrup, and shake well.
  3. Double strain into whatever fun, summery glass is at hand, top with soda water (we like about 2 ounces), garnish with a slice of fruit and enjoy!
